Dubai Police have again turned heads by adding one of the world’s most powerful sports sedans to their already extravagant patrol fleet. The force unveiled a 630-horsepower Audi RS7 Performance at the Museum of the Future, reaffirming the city’s penchant for blending security with spectacle.

The introduction of the RS7 was marked by a formal ceremony attended by senior officials, including Major General Eid Muhammad Thani, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Criminal Investigation Affairs, and Major General Rashid Al Falasi, Director of the General Department of Transport and Rescue. Executives from Al Nabooda Automobiles, Audi’s exclusive dealer in Dubai, also joined the event, highlighting the partnership between law enforcement and the luxury auto sector.

With its 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine delivering 850 Nm of torque, the RS7 Performance accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds. The car’s blistering performance is paired with quattro all-wheel drive, adaptive suspension, and a top speed that brushes past most supercars. Police officials said the vehicle will be used in high-visibility patrols across prominent tourist areas, reinforcing both public safety and the city’s global image of innovation.

Major General Thani noted that such vehicles serve a dual purpose. “They enhance our presence in popular areas while showcasing Dubai as a city where excellence and security go hand in hand,” he said. The department’s growing fleet of high-end vehicles has become as much a symbol of the city’s identity as its skyscrapers and luxury hotels.

The RS7 joins a roster of machines that could fill a car collector’s dream garage. Dubai Police already patrol in Bugatti, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Aston Martin, McLaren, Porsche and Bentley models. The collection has drawn international attention for more than a decade, often serving as a tourist attraction in its own right. Visitors to the city routinely stop to take photos with police supercars parked along the city’s glittering boulevards.

While some critics argue the cars are more about image than utility, officials counter that their presence helps foster a sense of safety and pride. They also point to the practical benefit of deploying such high-performance vehicles in a city where speed is a constant challenge. On Dubai’s wide highways, officers say the ability to keep pace with powerful vehicles can prove essential.

The partnership with Audi and Al Nabooda Automobiles further emphasizes Dubai’s effort to align policing with corporate collaboration and cutting-edge technology. K. Rajaram, CEO of Al Nabooda Automobiles, said the RS7 embodies “high performance and excellence,” qualities that mirror the ambitions of both the automaker and the city.

Dubai Police first gained global attention in 2013 when it revealed a Lamborghini Aventador as part of its patrol fleet. Since then, the line-up has steadily expanded, featuring everything from an Aston Martin One-77 to a Bugatti Veyron, the latter once certified as the fastest police car in the world. The vehicles are used sparingly in traditional enforcement but frequently appear at public events, exhibitions and national celebrations.

The Audi RS7 Performance, with its blend of luxury and speed, continues that tradition. For Dubai, the car is more than a patrol vehicle — it is a statement about the city’s aspirations and its determination to stand out on the global stage.
