Classic Car Crash: Racer Crashes His £250,000 1924 Bugatti Racing Car
A racing driver who crashed his quarter of a million bugatti classic racing car walked away from the prang – and had a beer. Edmund Burgess, 56, from Lavenhan, Suffolk, was competing in the Prescott Speed Hill Climb in Winchcombe, Gloucestershire on Sunday, June 2, when the brakes on his 1924 classic bugatti racing car failed. Even though the vehicle flipped right over, Mr Burgess dusted himself off, and after paramedics assessed him, he headed straight to the bar. Mr Burgess hopes to be back in the driving seat of his classic bugatti racing car in eight weeks, once he has repaired the car.
