This week I bring you the stylish and sporty 2025 Lexus TX 350 in its new-for-2025 F Sport Handling variant, which is only available on the 350. This three-row SUV has made all the right moves since being introduced in 2024 - I mean it had me with its power third row seat! I've previously spent time behind the wheel of the 500h F Sport Performance and the 550h+ Luxury plug-in hybrid variants.
Exterior
The Lexus TX is a stylish SUV that exudes polish in its elegant Incognito hue paired sporty 22-inch F Sport Matte Black finish wheels.
Its F Sport Handling status also adds special styling in the front and rear, black roof rails, dark chrome window surround trim and power-folding black outside mirrors. It's a large SUV that has a lot of presence on the road. Its body-colored grille tones down Lexus' large-grill reputation.
Performance
A 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine delivers 275 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque. It's mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. It's also equipped with all-wheel drive. Given its nearly 5,000 pound curb weight, the 350 feels a bit underpowered to me off-the-line. However, I've felt the power of the 500h and 500h+ so that probably has a lot to do with my assessment.
Interior
The Lexus TX's two-toned interior is upscale and full of amenities. It's well-designed too, of course, and quite roomy.
F Sport NuLux-trimmed power seats are cushiony with nice side bolstering. They're heated and ventilated, too. Soft-touch material include a bit of suede-like material and black grained trim. Door panels are a mix of materials. There is nice stitching throughout.
The cabin gets additional F Sport Handling treatment with an F Sport leather-trimmed steering wheel, which I really enjoyed, and F Sport aluminum pedals and scuff plates.
Two things I don't love: reaching up for the push button stop/start to the right of the steering wheel, and the smaller font size Lexus uses for its digital display.
A really nice 14-inch touchscreen runs the multimedia interface with 'Hey Lexus' voice command along with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Navigation looks great. You'll operate a lot of functions through the screen command center, including climate functions and selecting drive modes. Large dials control the temperature setting and you can also asks Lexus to change it for you. Below the center stack you can get connected using USB-C charging ports and below that you find a flat wireless charger that keeps your phone fairly free of sliding around.
A nice, but large, center console houses Lexus' short leather gear shift knob. Its silver trim looks particularly upscale. Two very large, very square cupholders over-power the space a little in my opinion, but they're certainly functional. And designers gave us a neat trick here. They are removable! Lexus' cushiony center console bin opens from both sides, as usual.
Passengers will enjoy a great ride in the roomy second row thanks to heated and ventilated captain's chairs. The armrest are on the slim side. Nice soft touch seat backs have pockets and manual sunshades help keep occupants cool. Above, there's a huge panoramic roof.
I also have to applaud the incredible 21-speaker Mark Levinson premium sound system, an option on this model.
Of course, a big point of the TX is its third-row power folding seats which comfortably fit adults. Quite comfortably too, they also power recline! Of course, a large third row was the big reason for the TX's existence in the first place. There is great legroom and headroom back there, as well as USB-C ports. I also really like the window real estate.
The cargo area is most impressive as well. It's huge. Especially with those third row seats down. I was able to fit in some gardening supplies, taking care of course to protect the cargo area.
Ride and Drive
The TX delivers a next-level smooth, comfortable ride. Handling for such a large SUV is also exceptional, as in it's very easy to get around in. It also delivers the quiet ride we expect from Lexus.
The TX's available F Sport Tuned adaptive variable suspension also feels terrific. Drive modes include Normal, Eco, Sport and Custom. It has a completely different driving dynamic than the truck-based Lexus GX - which I also love for different reasons.
Safety
The TX lineup is equipped with Lexus Safety Sense 3.0, as well as Blind Spot Monitor and Rear Cross Traffic alert along with Intuitive Parking Assist with Auto Braking. Digital door latches feature safe exit assist.
The F Sport Handling is also equipped with Advanced Park with Remote Park which worked impressively during my testing.
Note, a head up display is not offered on this trim level.
Options and What You'll Pay
Options include a convenience package which includes front cross-traffic alert, the fantastic Mark Levinson premium sound system, a tech package with advanced park with remote park and a panoramic view monitor, cross bars, a rear hatch cargo liner, activity mount, carpet cargo mat and illuminated door sills. As equipped it takes you to just under $72K.
Verdict
The TX 350 F Sport Handling is a great addition to the lineup. It's an enjoyable SUV with great driving dynamics and fantastic handling. However, I couldn't help but wish for more power having previously driven the higher-performance, and higher-priced, 500h variants. That said, this trim as equipped is roughly $10K less than the top-of-the-line TX, and you get great handling. So for this price point, it's a fantastic value.
